APA sudah Jadi... JOHOR???

Kota Iskandar, NusajayaKota Iskandar, NusajayaJOHOR BAHARU: The Johor government was today urged to cancel the plan by a developer of luxurious property projects in Danga Bay to build a sewage treatment plant in a Malay settlement here.
Kempas assemblyman Datuk Tengku Putra Haron Aminurrashid Jumat said the Malay residents in the area had been staunch Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) supporters since a long time ago.
"The state government should thus protect the interest and rights of the Malay residents in Kampung Skudai Kiri, Kampung Pasir and Pengkalan Marin who will be affected (by the building of the sewage treatment plant).
"They were the ones who helped to ensure BN's victory in the Pulai parliamentary constituency. While we're looking for the 'wow' factor to draw support for the party, we should not forget to fight for the interest of our existing supporters," he told Bernama, here, Sunday.
Tengku Putra said the developer owned about 180 hectares of land in Danga Bay which could be used to build the sewage treatment plant, so there was no need to locate it in a Malay residential area.
He said it was no use implementing development projects that did not side with the locals but would only turn their support away, and which could cause Umno and BN to lose power in Johor, their last bastion and most important asset.
Tengku Putra said although the 8ha piece of land for the planned sewage plant belonged to the developer concerned, the project was regarded as an insult to the residents as sewage from a posh area would be channelled to the Malay residential area.
"If the plant to be built is said to be sophisticated complete with beautiful landscaping, will not give out odour and located underground, isn't it better for the plant to be built at the posh development area in Danga Bay itself?"
He said if the plant was still built in the Malay residential area, the value of land there would drop, hence affecting economic growth there and also the Malay residents' standard of living.
This Malay residential area is located between Johor Baharu city and the state government's administrative centre in Kota Iskandar, Nusajaya.
